Henry obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2003 and worked in Melbourne based hospitals prior to entering general surgery training (SET) in 2008. For this time, he trained through the Alfred and Royal Melbourne hospitals.

In 2010, he interrupted his surgical training to undertake a PhD at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His thesis was on genetic analysis and cancer. He presented his research locally and internationally.

After returning to training and obtaining his fellowship in general surgery in 2016, he had one year of general surgery training at the Northern Hospital, in Melbourne. After this, he completed two years of post-graduate fellowship training in Breast Surgery at the Lyell McEwin Hospital (Adelaide) and St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne). During this time, he had additional training in oncoplastic and breast reconstructive techniques, and advanced breast localisation methods. He was involved in research in vascular technologies and presented research in Asia and Europe.

Henry also obtained an additional Masters degree in Surgical Education, and currently a lecturer/subject co-ordinator through the University of Melbourne. He also tutors and mentors medical students through the University of Notre Dame Melbourne Campus. He is currently researching the role of telehealth and communications in surgical practice.

Henry values patient centred care, professionalism and holistic options for patients. He likes to take time to give patients all options and make informed choices for their conditions.

Henry works in the public sector as a consultant breast/general surgeon at Werribee Mercy Hospital, and an Honorary Research/Education Surgeon at the Northern Hospital, Epping. He consults at the University of Melbourne Health Service. He has private appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital Werribee/East Melbourne, Melbourne Private, John Fawkner, North Park Private and Ramsey Health Northern Private Hospitals.
